Harley-Davidson recalls Touring models
Written by admin on December 10, 2009 – 12:32 am -A recall has been ordered of certain 2009 and 2010 model years of some Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycles that could affect more than 111,000 vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Touring motorcycles are manufactured in York County.
The administration lists that Harley is recalling the motorcycles because frontal fuel tank mounts might distort during a frontal crash, which could cause a fuel leak.
If ignited, the leak could cause injury or death, according to the recall statement.
Recall-related repairs to install braces to reduce the distortion are scheduled to be available at dealerships free of charge beginning on or about Monday.
